Local Getaway
Families of all shapes and sizes are invited to join us for a Family Discipleship Retreat at Carson Springs Christian Retreat Center, located in Newport, TN. Accommodations there range from hotel-style rooms for smaller families to multi-room suites for larger families to keep everyone from feeling cramped.
Our time together will be held in the Stokely Chapel, which has plenty of room for parents, kids of all ages, and some wiggle room for littles! There are also private spaces available for nursing mothers.

Biblical & Practical
The retreat will feature 4 Main Sessions and a Sunday morning sermon by Dr. David Evans, who serves as Senior Pastor at Springfield Baptist Church in Springfield, TN. His PhD work focused on families, and he has two kids of his own, so David has mastered the art of delivering relevant expertise in a relatable style for all ages.
In addition to these sessions, we will have intentional free time for families to be together outside of their normal routine and the option for church groups to host breakout sessions if they want.

Busy parents won’t have to miss any weekday work to attend, and the cost to register slides based on family size, rather than by individual attendees.

Note: For the purposes of this retreat, children are ages 2+ who will be needing their own meal pass. Children younger than 2 years will be considered infants.
This retreat is designed for married couples who eventually want kids, families with young kids, and families with older kids who are still at home.Â
The Registration portal only allows one selection from each category for shirt sizes. If you would like to purchase multiple shirts of the same size, simply let us know in your “Attendee Information” form!
Yes! Our food for the retreat will be mostly provided by Carson Springs, which has an experienced culinary staff who can work with us on any dietary restrictions if we know about them in advance.Â
Parents are encouraged to stay with their kids and be intentional to spend time together as a family. To this end, we have designed all our activities and sessions to be inclusive for parents and children together.Â
Don’t worry! You won’t be the only family with kids doing kid things!
