Dr. Troy Rust – Associational Mission Strategist

Raised on a farm in Logan County, KY, Troy came to faith in Christ at the age of 12, and became involved in missions at the age of 13.  Although he went on to major in music at Austin Peay State University, God was simultaneously using the Baptist Student Union to call him to fulltime Christian ministry.  A two-time graduate of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, he served local churches for 25 years, including nearly 19 years in the pastorate, serving churches in Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina.  In 2016 he began serving as a bi-vocational Associational Mission Strategist in North Carolina and became the full-time AMS for Holston Baptist Association in November of 2020.  He and his wife Amy have been married for 21 years and have 8 children, 6 girls and 2 boys.

Pam Parker – Office Manager

Born and raised in Kingsport, Pam was saved at the age of 8 during a revival at her small community church. After graduating from East Tennessee State University with degrees in microbiology and dental hygiene she was married to Stephen, and they were blessed with two now-grown sons. She believes her journey through many levels of the Tennessee Dental Hygiene Association and then as both a children’s ministry director and church secretary/ministry assistant prepared her for the next step. Through words inspired by the Holy Spirit and spoken by Dr. Roc Collins at the March 2021 HBA Leadership Rally, God called Pam to serve at Holston Baptist Association, one of the great blessings of her life. Pam considers herself living proof of Ephesians 3:20-21 and daily gives all the glory to God.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
